vent silencer
To mitigate the high-decibel noise generated during LNG carrier operations, Firsquare supplies dedicated exhaust silencers (DN50-DN150) specifically engineered for harsh cryogenic, corrosive, and explosion-proof marine environments. Integrating advanced acoustic technology and low-temperature resistant designs, these silencers efficiently attenuate noise from natural gas, BOG, and nitrogen emissions down to industry standards. While adapting to limited shipboard spaces and ensuring unobstructed exhaust flow, they provide a highly reliable, compliant, and low-noise acoustic solution for the safe operation of LNG carriers.

vent silencer

Product Description

· Materials: The main body adopts SS316L ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel, the silencing filler uses stainless steel fiber wool, and the exterior is paired with a marine-grade epoxy anti-corrosion coating. It combines excellent cryogenic resistance, marine atmospheric corrosion resistance, and explosion-proof safety, adapting to the -196℃ low-temperature working conditions of LNG carriers and the high salt spray marine environment.

· Silencing Type: Composite reactive and absorptive (dissipative) silencing structure. By combining expansion chambers with broadband sound-absorbing materials, it achieves highly efficient noise attenuation across the entire frequency band (low, medium, and high frequencies), balancing exhaust smoothness with silencing effectiveness.

Technical Parameters

· Nominal Diameter: DN50-DN150. It can also be customized and adjusted according to customer pipeline specifications and exhaust parameters to achieve seamless integration with the LNG carrier's exhaust system.

· Noise Attenuation: Typical insertion loss of 35-70 dBA, with broadband coverage of 63Hz-8kHz. It can be customized to adapt to the noise limit requirements of different exhaust points.

· Working Temperature: -196℃ to 200℃, compatible with all working conditions of low-temperature media emissions and conventional process exhaust on LNG carriers.

· Pressure Rating: Design pressure of 40 barg, meeting the pressure release requirements for safety valve pressure relief and pipeline exhaust on LNG carriers.

· Applicable Media: Inert/combustible low-temperature gases such as LNG Boil-Off Gas (BOG), natural gas, low-temperature nitrogen, and dry air.

product feature

· Full-Band High-Efficiency Silencing: Adopts a composite reactive and absorptive silencing design, breaking through the frequency band limitations of a single silencing structure. It achieves highly efficient attenuation of both mid-to-high frequency airflow noise and low-frequency vibration noise during the exhaust process of LNG carriers, providing excellent silencing effects.

· Extreme Low-Temperature Resistance: SS316L stainless steel main body combined with cryogenic-resistant silencing filler. There is no risk of low-temperature embrittlement, allowing it to operate stably for a long time under the -196℃ LNG low-temperature exhaust conditions, perfectly adapting to the emission needs of marine cryogenic media.

· Compact Installation Design: Addressing the limited installation space on LNG carrier decks and pipe galleries, the equipment dimensions are optimized, supporting multi-directional installation (horizontal/vertical). Paired with dedicated marine brackets, it adapts to the complex installation conditions of ships.

· High Reliability & Low Maintenance: Features a fully welded sealed structure with no vulnerable parts. The silencing filler utilizes a high-temperature resistant, low-temperature resistant, and airflow erosion-resistant design, ensuring a long service life. Inspection ports are reserved to facilitate easy later maintenance, reducing the operation and maintenance costs of the ship.
